2011 BMW 323i at Open Road
BMW in Newmarket, Ontario
Two
aggressive character lines introduce a dynamic movement as they taper
towards the BMW roundel and embrace it. The shoulder line sprouts from
the headlights and runs parallel to the Sick line to optically stretch
the vehicle. The combined effect adds extra sporty appeal to the
distinguishable athleticism of sculpted wheel arches and elegant curves.
Convex and concave surfaces intersect with an upward and downward
movement of lines gives the front a wider and more dynamic appearance.
The BMW 323i Series Sedan is the ultimate expression of one idea: to
provide a suitable body for the most athletic sedan in its class.

Interior
A BMW can be
recognized with eyes closed. Run your hand over its
surfaces, and you'll feel its unmistakable quality: the
precise workmanship of the upholstery, the firm grip of
the steering wheel and the high-quality chrome trim.
Open your eyes and the BMW 3 Series Sedan affirm your
initial impressions. Taking your seat is easy... Leaving
it, however, is another matter.

Dynamic Stability Control
(DSC)
Sports
driving demands diligent concentration; reactions are measured in
milliseconds. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) consistently monitors the
forces acting on the 3 Series Sedan's chassis and maintains that they
are within the maximum limits. If the vehicle's behaviour indicates the
possible danger of skidding, the system immediately and subtly
intervenes by braking individual wheels as needed. The next-generation
DSC now offers not only ABS and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) but extended
functions.

Six-cylinder gasoline engine
Lighter, faster, more powerful, and more efficient: no other element of
an automobile defines its character as much as its engine. The advanced
straight six-cylinder gasoline engine, constructed from a combination of
magnesium and aluminum, sets new standards for dynamic engineering. It
runs with a fluency that belies its massive power output as the
powerplant in the BMW 335i with High Precision Injection and BMW
TwinPower Turbo releases up to 300hp on command, accelerating from 0 to
100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds.

Suspension and dampers
A
highway, a dirt road, or even a cobbled street - whatever you're driving
on, the 3 Series Sedan's suspension and damper system is up for the
challenge. Precise design of the suspension architecture enables the
vehicle to excel at dynamic sports driving, just as much as comfortable
cruising. It is a science - or an art - that is only appreciated from
behind the wheel.
